From a candidate's perspective...
As an example, a 'build your own' package consisting of 2 weeks' accommodation in a hostel dormitory, help finding a job, a domestic flight, an airport transfer and Queenstown orientation, a Canyon Swing, and a Fergburger would cost you about $799.
For 4 weeks rent covered in a private room, a domestic flight, transfer, Queenstown orientation, Canyon Swing, Fergburger, and Mountain Biking experience, plus the job help you're looking at around $1569.
We tailor your package to the type of accommodation you'd prefer, and add/remove any activities you don't want. The price changes in line with what you're after! We can also discuss a payment plan for your package.
Remember, every package (including the 'Bare Bones' package) includes help finding a job for when you arrive in town. Bonus!
There are heaps of vacant positions in the region at the moment, and so there are lots of possibilities when it comes to the work you'll be doing. Our team has lots of connections in the construction industry, as well as hospitality and tourism businesses, and administration roles. There's a good amount of ad-hoc stuff too, which is great if you're not sure what you'd like to do and want to chop and change until you find your thing. As winter approaches we can find you work up the local ski fields in F&B, lift operations, or gear rentals, so you can enjoy the snow on your down time.
We have a massive surplus of jobs across all sectors, so we'll simply redeploy you! When you register with us you can decide whether you'd prefer ad-hoc work or something ongoing. Both have their benefits - if you're not exactly sure what you'd like to do, ad-hoc is a great way to dip your toes in to different sectors and roles, and see what's for you.
That's fine! We have lots of businesses looking for young people who are keen to learn, where experience isn't necessary. We can give you the opportunities, but it's up to you to take them and prove yourself.
We have partnerships with local hostels and other accommodation providers. Together we can figure out what sort of accommodation would suit you best, and make sure that's where you go. Hanging out at your accommodation is a great way to meet people and make new friends. When you're ready, we can help you move to something more permanent, or extend your stay. Technically it's not a package at all, it's just help finding you the right job. Often, because of the strong relationships we have with local businesses, we can place you in work you'll be happy with and recoup the cost to us via a one-off fee, charged to the employer who's taking you on. When that happens, there's no need for us to charge you for the service.
Often, the answer is yes. It will depend on the sector you'd like to work in, and how many staff members any given business needs at the time. We'll always do our best to place your group together, though it's not always possible.
That's up to you! You'll travel as an adult and we'll treat you like one. No doubt you'll have a great time in your new hometown, but call your parents once in a while and check in! Let them know where you're staying once you arrive in town. We're always here to help, but we'll give you the space to take care of yourself.
We'll work together with you to find you accommodation which matches your budget. During the process we will be able to discuss the location of your work (you'll only be matched to accommodation once you've got a job), and figure out something that works. If you buy a package that includes your accommodation costs, we'll cover it for the duration of the package you choose, then it's up to you.
