Winter Ski Field Jobs
All roles within the ski fields' food and beverage outlets are available to be filled for the coming winter. The process for securing a ski field job is a screening call with Kiwi OE, then an interview with your ski field's HR person. Once you have been offered a role, you'll sign your contract and work out what date you need to arrive to take up your role and how long it lasts for. Once you know that it's easy for us to put together your OE package using those dates. The nature of ski field jobs is that sometimes bad weather can cause mountain closures, which means loss of income. Luckily we can use our connections with businesses around town to keep you working until the weather improves.
As a lifty you'll spend a good amount of your time out in the conditions - whatever the weather! The cool thing about lifty work is that you often get to help out around other areas of the mountain like rentals and food & beverage. Due to the nature of the work and the conditions this work isn't for the faint hearted!
As a rentals staff member it's your job to set skiers and snowboarders up with the right gear to get them out on the mountain having a blast. Like other ski field jobs, this can be impacted by bad weather days (mountain closures). We can keep you working elsewhere in town until you're back up the hill, so no worries!
The construction industry is cranking and there's heaps of work happening. If you're looking for construction work, whether you've got experience or not we can help you get your foot in the door. Our recruitment partners Remarkable Labour specialise in labour hire for construction, we can connect you to them if it's what you're looking for. These roles can be adhoc too, so if you want the odd day here and there, that's possible too.
If you're a qualified builder, carpenter, electrician, plumber, or something else, it'll be pretty straightforward to place you in work for when you arrive. These roles are in high demand right now and our recruitment partners specialise in this stuff. Whether you're relocating short term for an OE, or longer term in the hope of settling permanently, trade qualified jobs are pretty easy to come by!
We have all sorts of work available within construction, and a few other areas which fall under the umbrella of trades. For example traffic control, drivers (all classes), landscaping, scaffolding, GIB fixing/stopping, and probably others we haven't thought of. You can try a few different things until you've found something you like!
Tourism & Hospitality Jobs
If you have cooking experience then you'll likely be in high demand. We can help place you into hotels, bars, and restaurants around town. Cooking roles can be quite seasonal, but the best businesses hang on to their staff all year round, so we recommend proving yourself to be a great asset once you get your foot in the door.
New Zealand is very proud of its coffee scene. We have some of the best coffee joints in the world. If you make a mean coffee then it's likely we can find you a job pretty quickly in your new town. If you have no experience but you're keen to learn and can demonstrate some commitment to sticking around long term, lots of businesses will be willing to train you up. It's a skill that will get you a job anywhere in the world!
If you have experience in retail or other customer-facing roles, you'll be a great communicator and a real people person. Whether you're serving coffees and meals or helping someone try on a new pair of hiking boots, you'll be appreciated by your customers, and that's an important part of enjoying your work. We can help you find frontline customer service roles within hospitality, or selling activities in the tourism sector.
If you've got great attention to detail and a strong work ethic then work as a room attendant/housekeeper can be very rewarding. There's usually a great 'crew' of workmates, and plenty of work to do! There are hotels everywhere, and we can help find you a role.
Are you a jumpmaster of skydiving or bungy? A jetboat driver? Skipper? Helicopter pilot? Sommelier? Whatever your unique skillset we can help connect you with the right business. No doubt you'll be in high demand, so we can help point you in the right direction.
