Some of our awesome candidates'...
Sisters Sammy and Danielle from the Waikato built a 6-week package for their OE in Queenstown. They stayed in a self-contained cabin at Pinewood Lodge, and went to work at Ferg Foods - Sammy in Mrs Ferg (ice cream and gelato) and Danielle was in Fergbakery. The package included a domestic flight from Auckland, airport transfer, a Canyon Swing and a half-day's mountain bike hire with gondola pass, and they paid it off over the course of their 6 week stay. Sammy and Danielle were our first ever customers so they're pretty special to us. You can read a bit more about their adventure here.
Tylah is 18 and flew over from Brisbane as soon as the Trans-Tasman bubble opened! He's been out to work via our partner agency, Remarkable People, and has been doing a great job. Tylah is hoping to bag himself an apprenticeship and stick around a while. We sorted his accommodation for his first 6 weeks, his flight, and we picked him up at the airport.
We sorted Scott's accommodation for him so he had a place to lay his head when he arrived. We also found him his job making pizzas at one of the local bars in Queenstown. Scott initially organised 4 weeks of accommodation, and then chose to extend because he loved Pinewood Lodge so much! Wonder if he'll give us free pizza for hooking him up?
Sarah took a road trip from the North Island down to Queenstown, and we organised her 13 weeks of accommodation at Pinewood Lodge! As soon as Sarah arrived we invited her into the Remarkable People office - they're our recruitment partners. Remarkable People have been keeping her busy doing Traffic Control amongst other things, around Queenstown's many construction sites!
Connor initially planned to come to Queenstown for a 12 week stay, and we organised his accommodation at Pinewood Lodge in their super social 'long-termers' unit. However a change of circumstances meant he had to head back a bit sooner than planned. Luckily we managed to swing it so nobody ended up out of pocket. These things happen, and we hope he'll be back soon!
Harvey organised his own flights and we sorted him out with 4 weeks of accommodation at Black Sheep Backpackers in the centre of Queenstown. Black Sheep is one of the most social spots around for new arrivals in town, and it's walking distance to supermarkets, bars and restaurants, as well as bus services. Harvey is headed into Queenstown Call Centre for work, we sorted that out for him. By all accounts, the team at the Call Centre play as hard as they work, and they work bloody hard. We reckon Harvey will fit right in!
